NOC Engineer I – MSP Team

PremierComm has a unique opportunity to rapidly grow our support team with multiple positions open.  The MSP Team will to provide a superior support on our technology solutions our clients consume in the Data Center, Desktop, Unified Communications, Networking, and Security arena.  The ideal team members will have experience supporting multiple technologies and an expertise in one of the following areas: Microsoft Servers, PC/MAC Desktop Support, IP Networking, Server Virtualization, Data Center, Security, & Wireless technologies.  The NOC Engineer will triage proactive alerts, regular maintenance, and customer calls for support and troubleshooting, such as password resets, configuration updates, OS and 3rd party software updates, break/fix instructions, ticket routing and escalation to other engineers for support as needed. The NOC Engineer will also utilize PremierComm’s RMM tools to proactive resolve issues before they disrupt business for our clients.  

They may also escalate to vendor/applications support or call for outside vendor maintenance as needed. A NOC Engineer gathers and analyzes information about the user’s issue and determines the best way to resolve their problem and may also provide support for identified issues where configuration solutions have already been documented.  NOC Engineers will also work in the field as needed to assist in Project Delivery or Onsite Dispatch for service tickets or project tickets. This position will focus on the growth of our MSP support team. You will have the opportunity to help shape the team and set best practices as we continue to expand.

Background, we need to see experience in at least one of the following:

  • VMWare vCenter/vSphere experience.
  • Data Center storage and backup knowledge.
  • Microsoft server, PC, and Office 365 experience.
  • PC Setup and deployment to end users.
  • PC Troubleshooting – performance, virus mitigation, connectivity, application.
  • Cisco command line interface, Unified Collaboration application experience, UCS interface experience.
  • Security best practices including AV, Malware, and Firewall troubleshooting.
  • General networking understanding – TCP/IP, subnetting, LAN/WAN
  • Understanding of TELCO service delivery – POTS, PRI, SIP, T1, MPLS

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) in relevant technology field.
  • Degree may be substituted for two to four years documented equivalent related experience.
  • CCNA Route Switch, Voice/Collaboration, Data Center, Security or MCSA.
  • Proficient in ConnectWise (or other PSA), MS Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint, etc.
  • Proficient in PremierComm’s RMM, AV, & Monitoring tools.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Sound judgment with the ability to make timely and competent decisions.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Position does not require exposure to extremes in work environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

Mandator Meetings:

  • Regularly scheduled 1-on-1 meetings with individual team members.

Service Delivery Engineer: Data Center

POSITION SUMMARY

A Service Delivery Engineer analyzes and delivers requirements based on the customer’s business needs and requirements in such a way that incorporates a total solution to address the customer’s perceived and articulated expectations.  The Service Delivery Engineer works in concert with Operations and Sales to validate scope & deliver upon agreed scope.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures project and tickets are resolved in efficient and timely manner, and within budget.
  • Adhere to On-Call schedule to provide support after hours as needed on a rotating frequency, or as needed.
  • Identifies, escalates, and resolves all project risks and issues.
  • Establishes, modifies, implements, and monitors systems and procedures to enhance timely and efficient workflow.
  • Efficiently and competently manage problems — when things go off plan (due to scope-creep, changed requirements, missed deadlines etc.) bring them back on plan or create a new plan with the assistance of key personnel.
  • Provide and/or update reports on project status; provides additional documentation on project, as needed and ensures project/ticket statuses are accurate.
  • Effectively maintains and tracks work tasks and documentation

Operations Intern / Part Time Service Delivery Engineer

We are always looking for potential interns or part-time employee candidates. Our focus is to provide superior technology solutions to our clients in the Unified Communications, Data Center, Networking, and Desktop Support arena. The primary technology partners we use are Cisco, VMWare, NetApp, Microsoft, and various backup solutions. We like to rotate interns throughout our Operations team to get a full view of what we do. They usually start working with the remote support desk, starting in the support desk gets them familiar with the central system we work in. This then allows interns to help in other areas. They get teamed with an implementation engineer for onsite work, and work with our project management group to learn how projects flow.

Background in technology we like to see:
– Cisco command line interface, Unified Collaboration application experience, UCS interface experience.
– VMWare vCenter/vSphere experience.
– Data Center storage and backup knowledge.
– Microsoft server, PC, and Office 365 experience.
– PC Setup and deployment to end users.
