This past April, PremierComm’s very own Jason Pennell participated in the Spooky Nook “Acre Breaker” Mud Run.
Drawing participants from all over the area, this fundraising event challenges runners to navigate a course consisting of various obstacles, many of which are filled or covered with, you guessed it, mud!
The Acre Breaker went down on Saturday, April 14th, in a rugged field across from the Spooky Nook Sports complex. This 4-mile obstacle race is ideal for all fitness levels and consists of more than 20 obstacles. Not only did Jason participate but he and his team (who called themselves “Will Run For Beer”) finished each obstacle —winning their heat as the first finishing team!
Running for a good cause:
“The Acre Breaker” is not just a run for fun event, this particular mud run benefitted the Lancaster County K-9 Unit, which is funded solely through donations from private individuals and businesses. The donations are used to maintain the unit and provide care for police dogs, Ronin and Edik.
“When Spooky Nook, who recently purchased a PremierComm network for their LANCO Fieldhouse, informed us of sponsorship opportunities to help raise funds for the K-9 Unit we jumped at the chance,” says Jason.
“We’re always looking for ways to collaborate with our clients and give back to our community.
This mud run is fun for the entire family! Jason brought the kids along to watch, but they also got to join in on the action by running the shortened version of the race. “We all had a great time getting muddy, and we look forward to next year.”
